Join Lindsey Dwyer-Tong at the State of the Healthcare Summit on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, to discuss a new initiative to support physicians experiencing crisis
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Physicians spend their careers caring for others, but who cares for the physician when the pressure becomes too much to carry alone?
Lindsey Dwyer-Tong, LCSW, founder of LT Clinical Consulting & Concierge Services, is addressing that question by developing the Physicians Resiliency Program, which provides physicians with confidential, individualized clinical support, crisis intervention, care coordination, and specialized guidance for burnout, moral injury, addiction, and other complex challenges affecting their health, relationships, functioning, or careers.
Dwyer-Tong will introduce the program to physicians, healthcare executives, medical organizations, and community leaders at the State of Health Care Summit on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. Presented by the Ventura County Medical Association and Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, the summit will bring together healthcare and community leaders to discuss the future of healthcare and opportunities for collaboration.

The program grew out of Dwyer-Tong’s own family experience. Her father is an emergency-room physician who spent his career helping patients through some of the most frightening moments of their lives. When he needed specialized support, Dwyer-Tong discovered that the resources available to physicians were fragmented.
“My father devoted his career to helping people through some of the most frightening moments of their lives,” Dwyer-Tong says. “When he needed help, he encountered a fragmented system that was not designed to understand the realities of being a physician. That experience revealed a profound gap in care and became the foundation for this program.”
Physicians routinely face life-and-death decisions, long hours, patient deaths, adverse outcomes, administrative demands, and intense professional expectations,” Dwyer-Tong said. “The Physicians Resiliency Program responds to the cumulative impact of these experiences by providing confidential clinical support, crisis intervention, care coordination, and specialized guidance when a physician’s health concerns intersect with licensing, credentialing, employment, or legal matters.
“This is not a resilience deficit,” she explains. “Physicians are already extraordinarily resilient. The problem is that resilience does not make someone immune to trauma, grief, addiction, family strain, or the psychological consequences of practicing medicine under sustained pressure.”
The Physicians Resiliency Program provides a central point of access for physicians and, when appropriate, their families. Services may include psychotherapy for California physicians, trauma treatment, crisis assessment, addiction-treatment coordination, individualized treatment planning, clinical case management, family support, forensic mental health consultation, and more.
“Physicians should not have to choose between protecting their careers and protecting their mental health,” Dwyer-Tong says. “Effective support must account for both.”
The Physicians Resiliency Program recognizes physicians as whole people and provides confidential clinical support, crisis intervention, care coordination, and specialized guidance when health concerns intersect with licensing, credentialing, employment, or legal matters. By addressing both clinical needs and professional realities, the program bridges the gap between crisis and coordinated care for those who devote their lives to caring for others.
“My father’s experience gave this work purpose,” Dwyer-Tong concludes. “I cannot change the fact that the resource he needed did not exist at the time. I can help build it now, so another physician and another family do not have to navigate a crisis alone.”
