Award-winning Quigley Motion Pictures feature earns two West Texas festival selections ahead of Paramount+ availability as company prepares its largest film yet

LUBBOCK, TX, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Death Wheel, the second feature film from Lubbock-based Quigley Motion Pictures, has been named an official selection of both the 2026 Flatland Film Festival in Lubbock and the Amarillo International Film Festival, giving the locally produced film back-to-back festival appearances across West Texas.
Filmed in the Lubbock area with an all-local cast and crew, Death Wheel follows four friends forced to play a deadly game in an attempt to break a vicious cycle of death and rebirth.

The Flatland selection will bring Death Wheel home to the community where it was made, followed shortly afterward by an appearance at the Amarillo International Film Festival.

The film has already accumulated recognition across the independent horror festival circuit, including Best Director at the Film Basement Horror Film Awards; Best Editing and Official Selection at the San Antonio Horror Film Festival; Outstanding Excellence in Horror at the Religion Faith International Horror Film Festival; and Excellence in Directing & Editing at the Sci-Fi, Horror, and Action International Film Festival. The latter festival also recognized the film for lead acting, cinematography, makeup, original score and visual effects. Additional honors include recognition from the Hollywood Horror Fest, LA International Horror Film Festival, Island of Horror Film Fest and Horror Haven Film Expo.

Quigley Motion Pictures launched with Mary From the Prayer Ward, a feature film produced for approximately $13,000 that went on to earn multiple festival awards and secure distribution through Blood Pact Films.

“With Mary, we wanted to show that you could tell great stories with a nonexistent budget,” Neighill said.

Quigley pushed that experiment further with Death Wheel, produced for approximately $4,000. Despite its smaller budget, the film has already received more festival recognition than Quigley’s first feature and has also been acquired for distribution by Blood Pact Films.

The festival momentum comes as Death Wheel prepares for broader distribution, including upcoming availability on Paramount+. Mary From the Prayer Ward is already available through Amazon Prime, Tubi, Fandango at Home and The Roku Channel.

Together, the two films provide growing evidence of what can be produced in West Texas using the region’s own actors, crew members, businesses, locations and creative resources.

Quigley Motion Pictures is now in pre-production on its third feature, The Elders, a horror-comedy that will be the company’s largest production to date. The film has been fully cast, with principal production planned for 2027 in the Lubbock area.

The project will build on the production infrastructure, regional relationships and growing pool of experienced cast and crew developed through Quigley’s first two features.

Death Wheel will screen at the 2026 Flatland Film Festival in Lubbock and the Amarillo International Film Festival in Amarillo. Additional screening and ticket information will be announced as it becomes available.
