“I started looking into business ownership because I wanted to have something established as a source of income before finishing my time in the Navy,” said Chris. “The goal is to create a strong, steady business here in South Carolina—something that can support our family and let us keep growing in the place we now call home.”

Originally from Baytown, Texas, Chris and Sara are high school sweethearts who now live in the Charleston area. Chris joined the Navy in 2019 and has served aboard the USS Georgia, where he gained extensive experience operating and maintaining essential propulsion plant and electrical distribution systems. He later reenlisted and is continuing his Navy career in South Carolina, where he currently serves as an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.

That military background, Chris said, has shaped the way he approaches business ownership.

“In the Navy, everything has a procedure,” Chris said. “You learn to follow the process, execute with discipline, give guidance, and keep learning from the people around you. Those are the same habits I want to bring into this business.”

Sara will also play a central role in the new franchise. In addition to pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Charleston Southern University, she brings years of accounting, accounts payable, vendor relations, administrative, and customer service experience. Together, the Olsons see Oxi Fresh as a way to combine strong systems, service-minded leadership, and practical business operations.
