TOLAR, TX, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Sailfish Investors, which develops data center and power infrastructure exclusively in Texas, today announced its full support for Governor Greg Abbott’s standards for responsible data center development and confirmed that Comanche Circle, its data center development in Hood County, is committed to meeting those standards as they are implemented by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and ERCOT. The company has delivered a letter to Governor Abbott committing the project to the standards and to full participation in the comprehensive verification and audit the Governor has directed.— Ryan Hughes, Managing Partner of Sailfish Investors
Comanche Circle was designed from the outset around the principles the Governor’s standards reflect:
● Project-funded infrastructure: Comanche Circle will satisfy all applicable customer-funded interconnection and financial-commitment obligations under Senate Bill 6 and Commission rules, so that the costs of connecting the project are borne by the project rather than shifted to Texas families and small businesses. Once developed, Comanche Circle will bring substantial private investment, broaden the local tax base, support the Tolar ISD, and create long-term benefits for landowners, taxpayers, and the broader community.
● Dedicated onsite generation: The project is advancing privately funded onsite natural gas generation designed to materially reduce its net draw from the ERCOT grid, add dispatchable capacity to the region, and, subject to ERCOT's interconnection approvals, make excess power available to the grid.
● Water stewardship: Comanche Circle is designed around closed-loop, water-efficient cooling, with projected consumptive water use far below that of traditional evaporatively cooled facilities. Detailed water-use projections and sourcing plans will be provided to the Commission and ERCOT as part of the audit.
● Community protection: The site was selected for its unusually large acreage and sparse surrounding population. Only four residences are adjacent to any portion of the project’s nine-mile perimeter, and Sailfish has proactively offered a binding setback buffer to an adjacent landowner and remains open to similar agreements with the others.
● Grid reliability: With new generation, developer-funded transmission improvements, and the ability to flex net load during grid emergencies, Comanche Circle is designed to enhance, rather than burden, the reliability of the grid serving the region.
