Its rarity, remarkable condition and complete collection of original accessories make it an exciting offering for music fans.”
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Propstore, one of the world’s leading entertainment memorabilia auction houses, has announced that an ultra-rare limited-edition Kraftwerk bicycle, designed by the group’s co-founder Ralf Hütter, is expected to sell for up to $26,400 at its upcoming Music Live Auction. Taking place in the UK across two days on October 1 and 2, 2026, the auction will offer more than 800 lots of music memorabilia with a combined estimated value of $4 million, with bidding available to collectors worldwide.— Mark Hochman, Propstore’s Music Memorabilia Specialist.
The standout bicycle is a limited-edition Canyon Ultimate CF SLX Kraftwerk, designed by the group’s co-founder Ralf Hütter and produced in a strictly limited run of just 21 examples worldwide. The entire edition sold out immediately upon its release on July 3, 2017. Numbered 5/21, this example carries a pre-sale estimate of $13,200 - $26,400 (£10,000 - £20,000).
The collaboration brought together Canyon’s precision German engineering and Kraftwerk’s distinctive visual identity. Its matte black carbon frameset features a reflective geometric design created by Hütter and applied entirely by hand, with the intricate pattern reportedly taking seven hours to cut and install. The premium road bike is fitted with a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX frameset, SRAM wireless eTap groupset and Zipp 303 Firecrest carbon wheelset.
The bicycle reflects Kraftwerk’s longstanding connection with cycling, a recurring theme in the group’s music and imagery. Their 1983 single “Tour de France,” released to coincide with the race’s 80th anniversary, incorporated the sounds of bicycle chains, gear mechanisms and a cyclist’s breathing. The group returned to the subject two decades later with the 2003 album Tour de France Soundtracks.
Also included is the exclusive Christmas gift package issued to the bicycle’s original owner, comprising a Kraftwerk-branded cycling jersey, T-shirt, water bottle, cycling cap, sticker, user manual, spare parts kit, numbered certificate and a copy of the 3-D The Catalogue eight-CD box set. The bicycle is accompanied by its original packaging, consignment note and authentication materials, and has been assembled only once for photography.
The auction will take place live over two days on October 1 & 2, 2026, with bidding available online, by telephone, and via absentee bids for collectors worldwide.
Propstore will also be hosting a special public free exhibition at The Cumberland Hotel, London from September 24 - 27, 2026, where fans and collectors will have the chance to see highlight lots up close, before they go under the hammer. Mark Hochman, Propstore’s Music Specialist, commented on the upcoming event: “This is an extraordinary piece of Kraftwerk history that perfectly captures the group’s fascination with the relationship between people, technology and movement. Designed by Ralf Hütter and limited to just 21 examples, the bicycle combines exceptional engineering with Kraftwerk’s unmistakable visual identity. Its rarity, remarkable condition and complete collection of original accessories make it an exciting offering for music fans, cycling enthusiasts and collectors alike. We’re thrilled to present it at Propstore’s Music Live Auction. ”
