Third high recovery BiTurbo™ unit increases property's total desalination capacity, continuing TSG's expansion of sustainable water production in the area.
High-recovery BiTurbo™ technology lets us deliver more clean water per unit of seawater treated, which matters both for our client’s operations and for the long-term sustainability of this coastline.”
GAINESVILLE, FL, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- TSG Water Resources announced today the successful commissioning of a new 700,000 gallon-per-day (GPD) high-recovery seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) train at Chileno Bay Golf & Beach Club in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The new unit is the sixth desalination train at the facility and the 4th that TSG has installed at the property overall, the third built around the sustainable, high-recovery BiTurbo™ technology developed by FEDCO. This follows the two-train BiTurbo™ installation completed in 2023 that first brought the technology to the site. — Jason Erickson, President and CEO
The BiTurbo™ system uses a patented two-stage turbocharger design to achieve up to 60% recovery using standard membranes. That means the plant produces significantly more potable water from the same volume of seawater than a conventional single-stage system, while not having a negative impact on energy consumption and reducing comparative brine discharge. The new train is designed to meet World Health Organization (WHO) standards for potable water and is fully integrated into Chileno Bay's existing desalination facility under a PLC-based control system with remote monitoring.
“This train reflects the continued trust Chileno Bay has placed in TSG as their water needs have grown,” said Jason Erickson, President & CEO of TSG Water Resources. “High-recovery BiTurbo™ technology lets us deliver more clean water per gallon of seawater treated, which matters both for our client’s operations and for the long-term sustainability of this coastline.”
TSG Water Resources specializes in the design, construction, and operation of advanced reverse osmosis desalination and wastewater treatment facilities across the Caribbean, Mexico, and the United States, with a continued focus on sustainable, high-recovery treatment technology and long-term client partnerships.
