Basemark Demonstrates Real-Time Data Fusion for Defense Operations with Patria

Patria AMV

Rocksolid® by Basemark integrates data from sensors, platforms, C4ISR systems and other operational sources into a unified, real-time view for the operator.

HELSINKI, FINLAND, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Basemark demonstrates its Rocksolid platform as part of a remote-operation demonstration involving a Patria Armored Modular Vehicle (AMV) operated from Tokyo while the vehicle is located approximately 7,800 kilometers away at the Parola military testing area in Finland.

The demonstration shows a key capability of Rocksolid: ingesting data in real-time from multiple systems and sources, fusing it, and visually presenting the information relevant to the operator and the mission.

Modern military platforms operate within an increasingly complex information environment. Relevant data does not originate only from sensors. It comes from vehicle and weapon systems, C4ISR systems, tactical networks, command systems, ISR assets, positioning and navigation systems, external sources, and sensors. During the Patria AMV demonstration, this included Patria DOME situational awareness suite, ICEYE tactical satellite ISR, vehicle health information, and Nokia sensing capabilities.

Rocksolid provides a software layer between these systems and the operator. The platform can ingest heterogeneous data streams, synchronize and fuse the information, determine how it should be presented within the operator’s human-machine interface (HMI) and then render it with minimal latency.

The objective is not to display all available data. It is to present the right information, in the right context, at the right time. This reduces the number of separate systems and data feeds the operator must interpret and supports faster situational understanding and decision-making.

Rocksolid is designed to integrate with existing and future defense systems rather than requiring a proprietary technology stack, remaining agnostic to hardware, sensors, and systems. The same software architecture can support remotely operated and autonomous vehicles, armored platforms, command stations, and advanced soldier systems. Information can be presented through conventional displays, vehicle HMIs, remote operating stations, and augmented reality devices.

“Military platforms already have access to large amounts of data. The challenge is to make that data operationally useful,” said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO and founder of Basemark. “Rocksolid can ingest information from different systems, fuse it in real-time and present only what is relevant to the operator. This is particularly important as armed forces introduce more remotely operated and autonomous systems.”

The remotely operated Patria AMV demonstrates the type of distributed architecture in which future defense systems will operate. The vehicle supports drive-by-wire and different levels of autonomy, while connectivity can be provided through technologies including 4G, 5G, and tactical software defined radios (SDR).

As armed forces deploy more unmanned platforms, distributed sensors and connected combat systems, operators will increasingly need to manage information across several assets and systems. Rocksolid provides the real-time data fusion and visualization layer between these systems and the human decision-maker.
