Minnesota research center expands its psychedelic medicine research program into post-traumatic stress disorder

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Institute for Integrative Therapies (IIT) announced today that it has been selected as a clinical trial site for COMP202, the Redefine Study, COMPASS Pathways’ late-stage Phase 2b/3 clinical trial evaluating investigational COMP360 psilocybin treatment in adults with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

COMP202 will be IIT’s first clinical trial focused on PTSD, expanding the range of psychiatric conditions the organization has studied through psychedelic and rapid-acting treatments.

IIT’s research program has included studies in treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder, involving investigational treatments such as psilocybin, psilocin, DMT, ketamine, and other emerging compounds.

“PTSD is an important addition to the conditions we are studying,” said Manoj Doss, DO, Founder and CEO of the Institute for Integrative Therapies and Principal Investigator at IIT. “One of our broader goals is to expand our understanding of how psychedelic medicines may help patients across a variety of psychiatric conditions, rather than viewing these treatments through the lens of a single diagnosis.”

COMP202 is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, controlled study with an open-label extension designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of COMP360 in participants with PTSD.

COMP360 is COMPASS Pathways’ proprietary synthetic formulation of psilocybin and remains an investigational treatment that has not been approved by the FDA for PTSD.

Expanding Psychedelic Research in Minnesota

IIT has developed clinical and research infrastructure specifically designed for interventional psychiatry and psychedelic medicine studies. The organization has previously participated in COMPASS Pathways’ clinical development program evaluating COMP360 in treatment-resistant depression and is involved in multiple studies investigating next-generation psychiatric treatments.

The expansion into PTSD reflects IIT’s broader research mission: to build experience across different diagnoses, compounds, and treatment models while contributing to a more complete understanding of both the potential and limitations of psychedelic medicine.
