AI-powered document processing meets smarter automation and secure messaging with LogicalDOC 9.3
CARPI, MODENA, ITALY, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- LogicalDOC, a global provider of document management software, has released LogicalDOC 9.3, introducing new AI-powered document processing capabilities designed to reduce the manual work required to capture, classify and route business information.At the center of the release is a new Object Detection capability that allows organizations to identify and locate specific elements within scanned and digital documents before information is extracted.
Unlike traditional document classification, which identifies what type of document is being processed, Object Detection can determine where individual pieces of information are located on the page. Depending on the document, these may include invoice numbers, dates, supplier details, totals, signatures, barcodes or other relevant fields.
LogicalDOC 9.3 can then use those detected regions as part of OCR, metadata extraction and automated document-processing workflows.
This approach is particularly relevant to organizations handling recurring document formats such as invoices, purchase orders, contracts, application forms and shipping documentation.
From document recognition to usable business data
LogicalDOC supports Object Detection models based on the YOLO (You Only Look Once) architecture. Organizations can train models using their own annotated document sets and import them into LogicalDOC to recognize relevant regions within incoming documents.
The new capabilities are designed to bridge the gap between recognizing a document and turning its contents into structured information that other business processes can use.
LogicalDOC 9.3 also expands automated metadata handling through the automatic population of extended attributes. Information identified or extracted from a document can therefore contribute directly to its classification, making it searchable, filterable and available to subsequent workflows with less manual data entry.

WhatsApp added for workflow notifications and two-factor authentication
LogicalDOC 9.3 also introduces WhatsApp integration as a new communication and security channel.
Organizations can configure LogicalDOC to send notifications through a corporate WhatsApp account, including messages generated by document workflows. This gives users another way to receive time-sensitive information when they are away from their desks or working across multiple locations.
The integration also extends to security. LogicalDOC can now deliver two-factor authentication (2FA) security codes through WhatsApp, giving administrators an additional authentication option and allowing users to receive verification codes through a familiar mobile channel.
WhatsApp messaging uses predefined templates configured through the Meta Business platform.
Additional improvements to document capture and automation
LogicalDOC 9.3 introduces several other changes aimed at making document intake and processing more consistent:
• Administrators can assign specific document templates to emails downloaded from individual email import inboxes, allowing different mailboxes and business processes to apply different metadata structures and rules.
• Document-processing operations continue to move toward LogicalDOC’s Filler architecture, where OCR, barcode recognition, metadata extraction and other processing techniques can be combined into configurable processing chains.
• Previous scheduled tasks dedicated specifically to Zonal OCR and barcode processing are being replaced by the more unified Filler-based approach.
Together, these improvements allow documents to move through a more automated lifecycle: information can be detected, extracted, converted into structured metadata and passed into workflows that can notify users when action is required.
Moving document management beyond storage
The release reflects a broader evolution in enterprise document management.
As organizations generate and receive growing volumes of digital content, storing and retrieving documents is only part of the challenge. Businesses increasingly need systems that can interpret document content, connect it with metadata and trigger downstream processes without requiring employees to repeatedly classify and re-enter the same information.
With LogicalDOC 9.3, AI-assisted processing becomes more closely integrated with document capture, classification, workflow and communication.
