Eligible Nevada contractors can now buy a license bond up to $50,000 with no underwriting and no indemnity agreement, at annual rates starting at 0.5%.
LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A1 Surety Bonds has launched an instant issue program for Nevada contractor license bonds. Eligible applicants can now purchase and receive a bond of up to $50,000 with no underwriting, no financial statement review, and no required indemnity agreement. Annual premiums under the program start at 0.5% of the required bond amount, subject to a $100 minimum premium.Nevada does not use a flat contractor bond amount. Under NRS 624.270, the Nevada State Contractors Board fixes each licensee's bond individually, anywhere from $1,000 to $500,000, with reference to the contractor's financial and professional responsibility, license classification, monetary limit, experience, character, and the magnitude of the contractor's operations. No license is issued or renewed until the contractor files a bond in the assigned amount or establishes an equivalent cash deposit.
That structure creates a timing squeeze familiar to every Nevada applicant. The contractor cannot buy the bond until the Board assigns the amount, and the license cannot issue until the bond is on file. Traditional underwriting sits in the middle of that sequence and can add days to it.
"The waiting period between the Board's bond assignment and the license issuing is dead time for a contractor with work lined up]," said Michael Neschke, President at A1SuretyBonds.com.
Program terms include:
Instant issue up to $50,000. Eligible applicants complete the online application, pay the annual premium, and receive the bond for filing with the Board.
No underwriting. No credit review delay and no business financial statements for eligible bonds at or below $50,000.
No required indemnity agreement. Eligible applicants are not asked to complete an indemnity package.
Rates from 0.5% per year. Annual cost generally runs 0.5% to 1% of the required bond amount, with a $100 minimum premium. A $25,000 bond may cost as little as $125 per year and a $50,000 bond as little as $250 per year.
Above $50,000. Bonds larger than $50,000 remain available through underwriting, which may include credit review, business financial statements, and indemnity depending on the surety and the contractor's profile.
The company emphasizes that instant issue changes the purchasing process, not the legal character of the bond. Nevada license bonds must be written by a surety authorized to transact business in the state, executed on the Board's form, signed by the proper party for the business structure, countersigned by a Nevada agent, and accompanied by a power of attorney. The bond must remain continuously in force, and a surety may cancel only on 60 days' notice to the Board and the contractor under NRS 624.275.
"No indemnity agreement is not the same as no responsibility, and a contractor still reimburses the surety for valid paid claims."
A Nevada contractor license bond is not insurance for the contractor. Under NRS 624.273, it protects owners damaged by a failure to perform or to remove liens, employees, suppliers and materialmen, and persons injured by certain unlawful acts or omissions committed in the performance of a contract. Failure to file or maintain the bond is cause for the Board to deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a license.
Nevada contractors can confirm their assigned bond amount with the Nevada State Contractors Board, then apply online at A1SuretyBonds.com or call (800) 737-4880.
