The study examined the 100 most recent written reviews available for each property and analyzed which aspects of the farm-stay experience reviewers discussed most frequently.
The analysis found that hospitality and service appeared in 61.3% of reviews, making it the most frequently identified theme in the dataset. Food and meals appeared in 56.6%, while peace, relaxation and escaping city life appeared in 51.6%.
By comparison, swimming pools were explicitly mentioned in 14.4% of reviews.
Hospitality-related language therefore appeared more than four times as often as swimming-pool mentions in the review sample.
“Farm stays are often marketed around amenities such as pools, activities and open spaces, but the review data shows that guests frequently write about the human experience as well,” said Anil Gorraladaku of Virama Farm Stay. “Hospitality, food and the ability to slow down away from city life appeared repeatedly across the properties we analyzed.”
The study also found that 40.6% of reviews mentioned family, friends or group experiences, while 35.7% discussed rooms or comfort, and 33.3% referenced nature, greenery or scenery.
Cleanliness or maintenance appeared in 30.1% of reviews, while weekend, getaway or outing language appeared in 28.7%.
Other themes included pet friendliness at 15.3%, activities and recreation at 14.1%, proximity or accessibility at 11.4%, value or price at 7.7%, and privacy or exclusivity at 5.3%.
Virama created the research to better understand what guests voluntarily choose to discuss after staying at a farm stay near Bangalore, rather than relying only on the amenities operators typically emphasize in their marketing.
The study does not claim that hospitality, food or relaxation are more important in booking decisions than swimming pools or other facilities. Review mentions are not the same as stated preferences.
Instead, the research measures how frequently specific themes appeared in written public Google reviews.
Study Methodology
The Bangalore Farm Stay Review Study 2026 analyzed 700 written Google reviews across seven properties, with exactly 100 reviews included from each property.
The properties included were:
Virama Farm Stay, Roy Farm Bangalore, The Little Ranch, Sattva Farmstay, Prakruti Farms, Yash Farm Stays and Sambhrama Organic Farm Stay at Channapatna.
The use of an equal 100-review sample per property was intended to prevent properties with significantly larger total review volumes from dominating the aggregate results.
Reviews without written text were excluded.
The review text was then analyzed across 14 predefined themes including hospitality, food, peace and relaxation, family and group travel, accommodation comfort,
nature, cleanliness, weekend travel, pets, swimming pools, activities, accessibility, value and privacy.
A single review could contain multiple themes, so percentages should not be added together.
The research was conducted in September 2026.
The study is based on public Google review text and does not represent every farm stay or every traveler in the Bangalore market. Reviewers are self-selecting, and public reviews can be edited or removed over time.
