Rainbow Socks, a new live-action musical series for children ages 4-8, combines original music, movement, hands-on science and Spanish vocabulary to encourage young viewers to explore the world around them. Filmed in Boulder, Colorado, Rainbow Socks follows renowned performers and educators Jeff Kagan, Paige Doughty, and Shaun Derik as they explore the science behind the world around them, from lightning and rocks to animals and chocolate. Through original music, movement, outdoor adventures, and hands-on experiments, each episode encourages young viewers to get curious and explore for themselves. Jeff and Paige are already familiar faces to many Colorado families, having spent more than 20 years performing their educational music throughout the state.

SERIES CO-HOSTS: JEFF, PAIGE & SHAUN
Husband-and-wife duo Jeff Kagan and Paige Doughty have performed their award-winning educational music for more than 1 million families across more than 2,000 live shows over the past 22 years. Both hold master’s degrees in environmental education, and Rainbow Socks is built around their award-winning original educational music, characters and live programming. Shaun Derik is a performer, singer, dancer and nationally recognized motivational youth speaker who has spent his career connecting with young people and families.
PRODUCTION TEAM
Rainbow Socks was created, produced, written and directed by Boulder-based filmmaker Dia Sokol Savage, with direction by Dana Romanoff and consulting producers Robin Hessman and Ben Lehmann. The production team brings deep experience in public television, children’s media, documentary filmmaking and educational programming. Savage has created nearly 1,000 hours of television, including 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom, was part of the producing team for the Academy Award-winning The Fog of War, and is a two-time Emmy winner and Sundance Fellow. Romanoff is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has appeared on PBS, National Geographic, Outside TV, Amazon Prime and the Smithsonian Channel, with a focus on women, girls and the outdoors. Hessman is a Peabody Award winner, executive producer of the Academy Award-winning Mr. Putin vs. Nobody and former producer of Sesame Street in Russia. Lehmann is a 22-time Emmy Award winner and media executive whose children’s and family credits include PBS Kids, Fred Rogers Productions and Sesame Street.
