Designed for children aged 5–15 living with T1D and their families, the Camp to Community initiative brings camp experiences, diabetes management education, and peer-to-peer connection to communities across North Carolina. Launched by The DFC in 2023 to extend support beyond the state's metropolitan areas, the program pairs recreational programming for children with resource sessions for caregivers, led largely by volunteers and medical counselors who themselves live with T1D.
This initiative directly aligns with Orange Biomed's "M.A.P. Your Health" campaign, which advocates for broader health awareness, patient empowerment, and proactive diabetes management.
